I just received exciting news! A picture of our boxer/coonhound, Ellie, won Dog Owners UK first “Dog of the Week” photo contest. What fun! She looks like she’s grinning for ear to ear.
Unusual Mushroom
I’ve been focused on fungi while writing my fourth mystery
because it has a mushroom festival in it. My husband found THIS next to our driveway! I’ve been finding many different varieties in our yard, but this one is the most interesting so far. I find the different shapes they come in amazing.A Golden Retriever Hero
This is an amazing example of how devoted dogs can be. A golden retriever’s owner slipped and fell in the snow and couldn’t get up. One article I read said the dog stayed next to him in the freezing cold for twenty hours keeping him warm before they were found by a neighbor.

Puppies Being Adopted
I had a wonderful time at Pet Food Express today. I took my young dog there for socializing, and they were having a puppy adoption event going on. There were lots of wide grins and people cuddling puppies. A lot of dogs were adopted today which is always great news!

Blair House
I took a couple of pictures of the Blair House when I was in Mendocino last month. It’s the home Jessica Fletcher used in Murder She Wrote. It was built in 1888. It was used as a bed and breakfast for a while. I’ve been in contact with the owners, and they hope to have it available as an inn again.
Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department
The Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department added to the holiday lights. I’ve been there when the siren starts to call people in. It’s REALLY loud. You see people come running out of homes and sprinting across fields. It’s one of the things that’s very different about living in a small, isolated community. I’m going to put it in one of my books.
