My second book, MURDER AT THE MANSION, released today. Exciting times! I created an event called Whale Frolic for this mystery based on the Mendocino Whale Festival. My “research” included sampling some great chowder!
This is one of my favorite photos of Ellie, our rescued Coonhound/Boxer mix. We didn’t put the rainbow in. It was one of those instances of being in the right place at the right time. Redwood Cove in my Kelly Jackson Mystery series is based on Mendocino, California, which shows in the background.
I really enjoyed my first Malice Domestic conference April 28-30, 2016. I met a lot of very nice people.
Thank you to Kathryn Stewart, CARDA, and Kris Black, CARDA, CSST, SCCSO for putting on a great presentation about search and rescue dogs. Besides talking about how to train the dogs, they talked about how scent moves, the characteristics of a good search dog, and the partnership between the canine and the handler. They did several demonstrations that were fascinating to watch.
I had a fun day at a Mystery Writers of America event about training search and rescue dog. I learned a lot.
Here are some more fun plants from Mendocino, CA, the town I based fictional Redwood Cove on in my mystery series.
I’ve been going through my Mendocino photographs. I wanted to share this one with you of a beautiful tree.
Since my first post, a lot has been happening. MURDER AT REDWOOD COVE is out, and I made it on the USA TODAY’s best-seller list! It’s an exciting time for me. MURDER AT THE MANSION releases June 7th. I have an author Facebook page and a Twitter account. I plan to post here on a regular basis.
Thanks for visiting!
I’m a debut author with my first book, MURDER AT REDWOOD COVE, being released on October 13, 2015. It’s currently available for pre-order. This is an exciting time for me involving learning many new things such as managing this website and creating an author’s page on Facebook. I’m looking forward to the new journey ahead.
